When you click on the name of a VM in the Manage Virtualization Managers Tab or the Manage Backup Providers Tab, CloudAdvisor displays information about that VM in a new tab that has the same name as the VM. This tab contains menus and tiles that show you information about the VM and about the intelligence that CloudAdvisor had gathered about the files on the VM.
The information displayed in this tab, and the options in the menus, depend on whether CloudAdvisor is accessing the VM through a virtualization manager or a backup provider.
On some tiles, you can drill down to explore the information further by clicking the Expander in the top right corner of the tile. You can also select detailed views from the Views menu.
Tile | Description |

Tags Tile |
Graphical representation showing different sized circles to illustrate the number of files discovered containing different tags. The larger the tag circle, the more files discovered for the indicated tag, relative to other tag circles in the tile. The possible tags include any CloudAdvisor predefined tags or any custom tags that you have assigned to the associated Insight Profile. Hovering over a tag circle displays the number of files found with this specific tag. Clicking a tag circle opens the Tags Distribution view for that tag category. For more information, see Analyzing Tag Distributions. |
VM Details Tile | Provides a summary description of the VM. The details provided depend on whether the VM is managed by a virtualization manager or a backup provider. You can expand this tile to see the VM Details Tile Full View. |
Most Active Users Tile | A list of the top users (up to ten) who perform the most file operations (referred to as activities). The larger the user name, the more active the user. Clicking a user name opens a User Activity Tab for that user. |
DiscoveryPoints Tile | Displays a list of all DiscoveryPoints created, the reason they were created, the snapshot schedule assigned, the DiscoveryPoint retention period, and the Insight Profile assigned. For details about DiscoveryPoints, see CloudAdvisor Terminology. |
File Categories Over Time Tile | Provides a summary of file space used by predefined file categories over time. |

Displays the assigned Snapshot Schedule. This option is only available if CloudAdvisor is accessing the VM through a virtualization manager. For details, see Snapshot Schedules Tab. |
DiscoveryPoints | Displays a list of the DiscoveryPoints for a specific VM and enables you to perform various actions on those DiscoveryPoints. For details, see DiscoveryPoints Tile Full View. |
Deleted Files | Displays a list of the deleted files in all DiscoveryPoints for a specific VM. For details, see Viewing Deleted Files. |
VM Details | Displays an in-depth description of the VM. For details, see VM Details Tile Full View. |

Scan for Backups Now |
Tells CloudAdvisor to look for any new backups for this VM created by the backup provider. This backup will become the basis for a new DiscoveryPoint. This option is only available if CloudAdvisor is accessing the VM through a backup provider. For details, see Scanning for Backups. |
Update Backup Discovery Policy |
Lets you change the date on which CloudAdvisor will stop monitoring the VM (if any) and the backup jobs assigned to the VM. This option is only available if CloudAdvisor is accessing the VM through a backup provider. For details, see Updating a Backup Discovery Policy. |
Remove from Inventory | Removes the VM from the CloudAdvisor inventory and deletes any DiscoveryPoints created for that VM. For details, see Removing VMs from Inventory. |
Manage Discovery Tools | Lets you manage the version of CloudAdvisor Discovery Tools installed on the VM and set when the tools should collect data. For details, see Managing CloudAdvisor Discovery Tools. |
