Viewing Deleted Files

The Deleted Files view shows a list of the deleted files in all DiscoveryPoints for a specific target. This view enables you to filter the display output and select files that you want to restore. The view output shows information about deleted files, including when a file was deleted, the full path to the file, and the name of the user who deleted the file.

View Information

Content		Description
Actions menu		Drop-down menu that enables you to clear tags and restore files (only available when searching a specific VM). Clear Tags – Allows you to remove a tag that you believe might have been a false positive (e.g., Credit card tag on a binary executable file). For more information, see Removing Tags from a File Version. Restore File – Prompts you for the guest username and password to be used to restore the files. For more information, see Restoring Files or Directories.
Export menu		Drop-down menu that enables you to export search results in a specific file format (.csv or .tsv). For more information, see Exporting Search Results. Note: Time fields in csv and tsv export results are reported in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). They can be converted to local time in Excel.
Matches Found		Total number of matches found for the specified search input.
Sort By menu		Drop-down menu that enables you to sort the search results by relevance, file age, or file size. For more information, see Sorting Search Results.

File Information

Content	Description
File icon	Icon that represents the type of file.
File name	Name of the file. When clicked, opens the File tab for that file. For more information, see Managing Files. Note: Italicized file names indicate files that are in a deleted state.
/ directory / directory /	Relative path to the file.
Backup provider name	Server name or IP address of the backup provider.
Datastore name	Name of the datastore system.
VM name	Name of the VM.
Owned by	Name of the user who owns the file. When clicked, opens the User tab for that owner. For more information, see User Activity Tab.
Last Modified	Date and time at which the file was last modified (in the format mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss).
Discovered Time	Date and time at which the file was first seen.
Identified Tags	CloudAdvisor predefined tags, or any custom tags, that you have assigned to the associated Insight Profile.
File size	Size of the file (in Kilobytes [KB], Megabytes [MB], or Gigabytes [GB]).
File Details icon	Displays system and file properties as well as tag stored matches and a summary of the file's contents. For more information, see Viewing File Details.
Download icon	Launches a download of the file to the local system. Only files with a snapshot can be downloaded.
Restore icon	Launches a restore action on the file. This action opens a Restore Items view from which you can restore previous versions of the file. Only files with a snapshot can be restored.
