VM Activities View

The Activities view displays information about the most recent (up to 1000) file activities performed on the VM. This view provides a filter, enabling you to display a subset of the activities, as well as an Export drop-down menu that you can use to export the activity output to either comma-separated value (csv) or tab-separated value (tsv) formats. The view output displays information about the file activities on the VM, including the date and time of the file activity, the user who performed the activity, the activity type, and the file the activity was performed against.

To view this tab, select Views > Activities from the VM Details Tab.

Number of Activities

Total number of activities performed on the VM (shown in parentheses).

Filter

Field that enables you to filter activity output as follows:

Quick filter options (Reads, Updates, and Deletes) – Filters activity output based on groups of related operations. Hovering over the quick filter provides a list of operations included in the filter group.
Date – Filters the output based on selected time or date options or by using a specified custom date range.
Operation – Filters the output based on selected operations.
User – Filters the output based on selected users.

Once a filter is added, the output is automatically filtered and displayed.

Activity Time

Time at which an activity occurred. This value is provided in the format mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss, using a 24-hour time specification.

User ID

ID of the user who performed the activity. When clicked, opens the User Activity Tab for the selected user.

Operation

Operation performed by the user (for example, write, read, set ACL, and so on).

File Path

Full file path to the manipulated file or directory. The file path is an active link that enables you to open the File Details Tab for the selected file or directory.

Export drop-down menu

Lets you export of activities list as a comma-separated value (csv) or tab-separated value (tsv) file. For more information, see Exporting Search Results.

Note:

Time fields in csv and tsv export results are reported in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). They can be converted to local time in Excel.
