The Manage Backup Providers tab lets you specify the backup providers that CloudAdvisor can use to access files on the associated VMs. For VMs that are regularly backed up by a backup utility, this provides an alternate way for CloudAdvisor to monitor the files on the VM.
When adding backup providers, keep the following in mind:

Name | Backup provider server name or IP address. Click the name to view the Backup Provider Details Tab for any backup provider. |
Type | Backup provider type. |
Version | Version of the backup provider server. |
Credential | User name for the backup provider admin account. |
Status | Indicates the status of connectivity between CloudAdvisor and that specific backup provider. |
