Restoring Files or Directories

CloudAdvisor enables you to restore files or directories from available snapshots or backups. When you choose to restore a file or directory, CloudAdvisor first attempts to restore the file using the same name. If the name of the file or directory you are restoring already exists, CloudAdvisor appends a time stamp to the file or directory name to indicate the last time the file was modified. Restored files maintain the original file extension.

When restoring files or directories, keep the following in mind:

To restore a file or directory:

  1. Locate the file or directory that you want to restore in the tab or view output.
  2. Click the Restore icon in the tab or view output, next to the file or directory that you want to restore.
  3. In the VM Guest Credentials dialog box, specify the VM guest credentials and click Continue.
  4. In the Restore Items dialog box, click Restore.

The restoration process provides a status for the files restored.

  5. Click OK.
