There are two types of objects in the CloudAdvisor inventory:
The Inventory drawer lets you manage the CloudAdvisor inventory.
Allows you to manage the virtualization managers (VMware vCenters) in the CloudAdvisor inventory. After you have added a virtualization manager, CloudAdvisor can use that virtualization manager to create and analyze snapshots for any VMs registered with that virtualization manager.
The Virtualization Managers tab lets you add vCenters to inventory and specify the vCenter credentials so that CloudAdvisor can access the VMs registered with that vCenter. For more information, see Manage Virtualization Managers Tab.
Backup providers are an alternative way for CloudAdvisor to access files on the VMs that it is monitoring. Instead of creating and mounting VMware snapshots, CloudAdvisor can analyze the backup files created by the backup provider.
The Manage Backup Providers tab lets you specify the Veeam Backup and Replication providers whose backup files you want CloudAdvisor to monitor. For more information, see Manage Backup Providers Tab.
VMs are the actual virtual machines that CloudAdvisor is monitoring. The Manage VMs tab lets you add or remove VMs from the CloudAdvisor inventory when you need to start monitoring new VMs or stop monitoring existing ones. Each VM in the CloudAdvisor inventory is associated with one of the defined virtualization managers or backup providers. The type of provider associated with each VM determines how CloudAdvisor will access and analyze the data on that VM. For more information, see Manage VMs Tab.
Provides a shortcut to the Add VMs to Inventory wizard. For more information, see Adding VMs to Inventory.
