Before You Begin
Make sure you know the login credentials for a backup provider user account. The account must have administrator privileges.
Procedure
To add a backup provider:
Specify the following properties:
Field Name | Description |
---|---|
Server Name or IP Address | Name or IP address of the backup server you are adding. |
User Name | User name credentials for this system. |
Password | Password credentials for this system. |
Click Continue.
Click Add to Inventory.
CloudAdvisor verifies connectivity and discovers details about the system.
On the Analysis Blackout Window page, select the time periods during which you do not want CloudAdvisor to process DiscoveryPoints on the backups on this system. Using a blackout window ensures that CloudAdvisor will not attempt to mount or read the backups during peak usage hours.
When you are done, click Continue.
CloudAdvisor adds the VMs to inventory and creates a snapshot view of each.
