Upgrade Requirements for Version 10.4.3

You must upgrade your KeyControl Vaults before upgrading KeyControl Compliance Manager.

Upgrading from 10.3.1 to Version 10.4.3

Because the underlying KeyControl Compliance Manager hardened-OS has changed in 10.4.x from CentOS to Oracle Linux, you can only upgrade from version 10.3.1. The following is required to upgrade: 

  • Prepare your 10.3.1 system for upgrade by navigating to the Settings page and clicking System Upgrade. For more information, see Prepare to Upgrade to KeyControl Compliance Manager 10.4.3. This creates a backup file that contains the necessary information for upgrading.

  • Decide which upgrade path you want to take. This can be one of the following: 

    • Upgrade one of your existing 10.3.1 nodes in place by mounting and running the installation ISO file, and then uploading the configuration information from the backup file that you prepared. Because the IP address and credentials are the same, you will not need to recover your system.

    • Install 10.4.3 on a new node, then use Actions > Restore from 10.3.x cluster node from the Cluster page to import the backup file that you prepared. You will be prompted for the node IP or hostname, the administrator username, and the administrator password. Enter the information from the original 10.3.1 node where you downloaded the backup file. Both nodes must be in the same network and able to communicate. After verifying the backup, you can restore it.

    • Install 10.4.3 on a new node and then import the backup information from the 10.3.1 backup file that you prepared. Because this installation is on new hardware that is not directly communicating with the original node, this method requires that you recover your system. For more information, see Recovering Access to KeyControl Compliance Manager. You must ensure that your admin key has been downloaded before you begin.

  • If you change the IP Address for your nodes, you will need to regenerate your certificates and reinstall them.

Upgrading from 10.4.1.1 to Version 10.4.3

You can upgrade KeyControl Compliance Manager from any node in the cluster using the KeyControl Appliance Management webGUI. The upgrade is automatically applied to all nodes in the cluster sequentially. Any new features in KeyControl Compliance Manager will not be available until all nodes in the cluster have been upgraded.
