Prepare to Upgrade to KeyControl Compliance Manager 10.4.3

This section applies to upgrading from 10.3.1 only. If you are upgrading from 10.4.1.1, see Upgrading KeyControl Compliance Manager from 10.4.1.1 to 10.4.3.

Before you can upgrade to KeyControl Compliance Manager version 10.4.3, you must prepare your system. This process performs the following:

  • Prepares a full backup of your cluster with the following format:

  • HTKC_Cluster_10.3.1.0_<year>_<month>_<day>_<hours>_<minutes>_<seconds>_key_gen1.bu.

  • Records the pertinent network information of your cluster.

  • Puts the cluster into maintenance mode, which prevents any changes from happening to the cluster.

Before You Begin 

  • Important: If you have multiple nodes in your cluster, and plan to reuse the IP address of one of the nodes, please remove all additional nodes from the cluster, and shut them down before you start the prepare to upgrade process.

  • Procedure 

    1. Log into the KeyControl Compliance Manager webGUI using an account with Security Admin privileges.

    2. In the top right, click the Switch to Appliance Management link.

    3. In the top menu bar, click Settings.

    4. In the System Settings section, click System Upgrade.

    5. On the System Upgrade page, click the Prepare Upgrade to 10.4.x radio button.

    6. Click Backup.

    7. In the confirmation window, click Create Backup.

    8. When the backup has finished, click Download Backup.

    Important: If you choose to cancel the backup file, your cluster will return to normal mode and you can continue working in 10.3.1. If you do this, you will need to repeat this procedure and create a new backup file.
