Increasing KeyControl Vault Storage in a VM

If you installed KeyControl Vault in a VM, you can increase the amount of storage available without reinstalling KeyControl Vault. You just need to increase the size of the underlying disk and reboot the KeyControl Vault node.

Important: If you upgraded to Version 10.1.1, you must delete the pre-upgrade snapshots before you start. See Delete KeyControl Vault Snapshots.

  1. Increase the size of the virtual disk in which KeyControl Vault is installed using your hypervisor tools.

Note: You may need to shut down the VM before you can resize the disk. For details, see your hypervisor documentation.

  2. Log into the KeyControl webGUI using an account with Domain Admin privileges.
  3. In the top menu bar, click Cluster.
  4. Select the KeyControl Vault node whose disk you just resized in the list.
  5. Select Actions > System Reboot.
  6. If necessary, log back into the webGUI after the KeyControl Vault node has rebooted.
  7. Review the Audit Log messages. The node should report the new size upon success or provide information if the resize failed.
