Increasing Cryptographic Security Platform Vault Storage in a VM

If you installed Cryptographic Security Platform Vault in a VM, you can increase the amount of storage available without reinstalling Cryptographic Security Platform Vault. You just need to increase the size of the underlying disk and reboot the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault node.

Important: If you upgraded to Version 10.4.5, you must delete the pre-upgrade snapshots before you start. See Delete Cryptographic Security Platform Vault Snapshots.

  1. Increase the size of the virtual disk in which Cryptographic Security Platform Vault is installed using your hypervisor tools.

Note: You may need to shut down the VM before you can resize the disk. For details, see your hypervisor documentation.

  2. Log into the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault Management webGUI using an account with Domain Admin privileges.
  3. In the top right, click the Switch to Appliance Management link.
  4. In the top menu bar, click Cluster.
  5. Select the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault node whose disk you just resized in the list.
  6. Select Actions > System Reboot.
  7. If necessary, log back into the webGUI after the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault node has rebooted.
  8. Review the Audit Log messages. The node should report the new size upon success or provide information if the resize failed.
