File Activities View

The File Activities View shows the number of update and read operations on the file, when they occurred in the DiscoveryPoint, and how many "unique" people updated or read the file. To access this view, select Views > Activities from any File Details Tab.

View Information

Field / Column	Description
Activity legend	Indicates graphical color values for different file activities performed on the file (updates or reads) and the number of unique people involved in the activities.
Y-axis: Number of activities or unique people	Numerical scale used for both the number of activities performed on a file or the number of unique people who have performed activities on the file.
X-axis: Date	Time over which the file has existed in this VM. The date values are provided in yyyy/mm/dd format.
Activity bar	Graph bar showing the number of activities performed at any particular point in time.
Filter	Filter bar enabling you to filter the file activity output that follows. You can filter using any combination of Date, Operation, and User.
Activity List	A list of all activities performed on the file since the last DiscoveryPoint was created. The list contains the following columns: Date and Time – Date and Time at which the activity occurred. The time value is provided in mm/dd/yyyy hh:mm:ss format. User ID – Name of the user who performed the action on the file. This column is sortable in ascending or descending alphabetical order. Operation – Activity performed on the file (for example, create, read, write, truncate, set attr, and so on).

Tile Actions and Behaviors

Action	Behavior
Click a category in the legend	Filters the tile output by removing (or adding) categories.
Hover over any activity bar	Provides a pop-up view of the type and number of activities performed at the selected time.
Hover over the Unique People Involved line	Provides a pop-up view showing the number of unique people involved with the activities at the selected time.
