Editing an Insight Profile

When editing the tags included in an Insight Profile, keep in mind that each time you change the tags, CloudAdvisor reprocesses all DiscoveryPoints on all VMs to which the Insight Profile is applied.

Reprocessing is faster and uses fewer resources than the initial DiscoveryPoint creation process, but it may still take some time depending on how many DiscoveryPoints need to be reprocessed. The search results for a DiscoveryPoint will not reflect your changes until that DiscoveryPoint has been reprocessed.

Tip:

To view the reprocessing progress for a specific DiscoveryPoint on a specific VM, open the VM Details Tab for that VM and then expand the Discovery Points tile.

Procedure

From the Home tab, select Discover > Insight Management. .
In the tab menu bar, click Profiles.
Click on the name of the Insight Profile that you want to edit.

In the Insight Profile dialog box, change the following properties as desired:

Field Name	Description
Name	User defined name of the Insight Profile.
Tags to Discover	The tags you want CloudAdvisor to use when creating and processing DiscoveryPoints. Each tag contains a regular expression that CloudAdvisor uses to match text patterns within the files on the VMs associated with this Insight Profile. For more information, see Tags .
DiscoveryPoint Retention	Number of days DiscoveryPoints will be retained.
Description	Optional description of the Insight Profile.

Click Apply.
