Deleting Insight Profiles

Before You Begin 

Make sure that the Insight Profile you want to delete is not assigned to any VMs in the CloudAdvisor inventory. To do so, open the Manage VMs Tab and sort by the Insight Profile column.

Procedure 

  1. From the Home tab, select Discover > Insight Management.
  2. In the tab menu bar, click Profiles.
  3. Click the check box next to one or more Insight Profiles that you want to delete.
  4. Click the Trashcan (Delete) button.

    CloudAdvisor displays a confirmation dialog box listing the Insight Profiles that were it is about to delete. Make sure you review the list carefully, as a deleted Insight Profile cannot be restored.

  5. Select (check) the Delete the following insight profile check box to confirm the deletion.
  6. Click OK.

    CloudAdvisor immediately deletes any unused Insight Profiles from the system.

    If one or more of the selected Insight Profiles are currently assigned to a VM, CloudAdvisor displays an error message stating which profiles are in use along with the names of the VMs that are assigned to that profile. You must assign a different Insight Profile to those VMs before you can delete the currently assigned profile.
