Importing a Secret
The KeyControl Vault for Secrets allows you to import secrets. We supply .csv files that will allow you to easily enter your information and import them.

From the KeyControl Vault for Secrets webGUI, select Manage > Manage Boxes.

On the Manage Boxes page, select the box where you want to import a secret.

On the Box page, in the Secrets region, select Actions > Import Secrets.

In the About Importing Secrets section of the Import Secrets window, download the csv files for the types of secrets that you want to add. This can be one of the following:

ESXi Host template

SSH Key Template

Other Secrets Template
You can use these template to create your import file, or create your own .csv file.

Create your import file.

In the Type of Secrets drop-down, select the secret type that you want to import. This can be one of the following:

ESXi Host
-
SSH Key
-
Other
-
Key-Value Pair
-
Password
-
Text
Note: You cannot import a secret of type File.

Click Browse to locate the CSV file that you want to import and then click Open. You must pick a file that is the same type as the type of secret.

Click Import.
The Import Summary window displays how many secrets were successfully read from the CSV.
