Change the secroot Account

The default user for the KeyControl Appliance Management webGUI is secroot. If the secroot user can no longer remember their credentials or is locked out, you can reset their credentials with a temporary password.

1. Log in to the KeyControl Compliance Manager as htadmin.
2. Select Manage Support Accounts.
3. Select secroot(KeyControl Compliance Manager webGUI default account).

4. Select one of the following: 

   • If email is enabled, select Generate random password and send it via email to secroot (Recommended).

     After receiving the email, the secroot user can log into the KeyControl Appliance Management webGUI and reset their password.

   • If email is not enabled, select Enter new temporary password for secroot.

     You will need to communicate the new password to the secroot user. After that, the secroot user can log into the KeyControl Appliance Management webGUI and reset their password.

5. Select Return to previous menu when you are finished.
