Creating a Vault
KeyControl security administrators create vaults and assign an administrator to each vault.
The vault administrator is sent the URL and a temporary password, allowing them to access and configure the vault. The vault administrator is responsible for the vault and has full control. Vaults are automatically created with local authentication. The vault administrator can change this at any time.
The KeyControl administrator does not have access to the vault by default.
To create a vault

Log into the KeyControl Vault Management webGUI using an account with Security Admin privileges.

Select Create Vault.The Create Vault page appears.

Enter the vault details:

Select the vault type.
Name Enter the name for the vault. Description
Optional: Enter a description for the vault.
Email Notifications
Select ON or OFF to enable email notifications. If SNTP is not configured, email cannot be used.

If email is turned on, then an email is sent to the vault administrator. The email provides the URL of the vault and a temporary password. The vault administrator logs on to the vault with the tempory password and is prompted to change their password.

If email is turned off, then you will see and need to give the temporary passwords to the Vault Admins.
Admin Name Enter the name of the vault administrator. Admin Email
Enter the email address of the vault administrator.
An email is sent to this email address, inviting the vault administrator to configure and manage the vault.
