Verifying the Admin Key
Every 90 days, KeyControl checks to ensure that the admin key you downloaded is still accessible. The Recovery Verification Required dialog box is displayed to prompt you to enter the admin key or regenerate it. If you close the window without verifying or regenerating the key, the dialog will be shown again the next time you log in.
Important: If the Admin Key is stored in EKS (HSM) then KeyControl does not perform this check.
- Log into the KeyControl Vault Management webGUI using an account with Security Admin privileges.
- In the top right, click the Switch to Appliance Management link.

In the top menu bar, click Settings.

In the General Settings section, click Admin Key Parts.

In the Admin Key Parts window, click Verify Current Key.

In the Recovery Verification Required page, click Browse to select your current Admin Key, and then click Verify.
Note: If you do not have the Admin key, you can generate another one. See Generating the Admin Key.
If successful, the page will display the following message: Admin key is successfully verified. This dialog will then be repeated after another 90 days.
