License management is primarily involved with three areas:
To check the status of your existing license, click the Settings Icon, and then click License. Your current status appears.
To request an upgrade to your license, send an email to the address on the screen, to HyTrust License Support. They will email your new license to you.
Once you receive your license, save it and return here to upload it. To upload a new license, locate the license using the Browse button and then click Upload file:
You will be prompted to accept the EULA.
With respect to the HyTrust KeyControl server, administrators (e.g. secroot) will not be able to perform any management functions within the user interface (UI). Specifically, an authorized KeyControl administrator will be taken straight to the expired license page after logging in and they will need to update their license before gaining access to any other pages in the UI.
With respect to the policy agent on a given VM, you will not be able to initiate a register operation to register a new virtual machine. However, you can still manage any currently registered and encrypted virtual machines from the Policy Agent after a license has expired. Since other issues may occur (e.g. a cluster may go into a degraded state, etc.), the best practice would be to make sure that you renew your subscription license before it expires. If for some reason you are not interested in renewing your subscription license, HyTrust highly recommends that you decrypt all encrypted volumes, unregister all policy agents and retire your KeyControl server before license expiration.
