Managing ESXi Host Account Credentials with the Secrets Vault

You can use the secrets vault to manage your ESXi host accounts. You can create a secret with the root password and the host information and store it in your secrets vault. Once created, you can: 

• allow only certain users to checkout or access the secrets.
• enforce the duration for when the secrets must be returned.
• automatically rotate your root passwords when the secrets are checked in or at a set duration.

Note: If you are a CloudControl 5.x user, this feature was known as Root Password Vaulting (RPV).
