Removing KeyControl Nodes from a Cluster
Before you can upgrade a KeyControl node running version 4.1.x or earlier, you must remove any nodes that are in the same cluster. You can then upgrade the remaining node and use it as the basis of the new cluster. (If your KeyControl nodes are running version 4.2 or later, see Upgrading 4.2 or Later KeyControl Nodes with the KeyControl webGUI.)
The node that you log into with the KeyControl webGUI for this procedure will hereafter be called the "First Node", as it will become the first upgraded node in the cluster.
- Log into the KeyControl webGUI on the first node you want to upgrade using an account with Domain Admin privileges.
- In the top menu bar, click Cluster.
- Click the Servers tab and select the KeyControl node that you want to remove.
- Select Actions > Remove.
- Click Proceed at the prompt.
-
If the KeyControl node is part of a KeyControl Mapping, select the option Do not change the mapping at the prompt.
Because you are going to rejoin the node with the cluster, you do not have to change the KeyControl Mapping.
- Repeat this procedure until only the current node exists in the cluster.
What to Do Next
Upgrade the First Node as described in Upgrading the First KeyControl Node Using the webGUI or Upgrading the First KeyControl Node Using the HyTrust ISO Image.
