SNMP Traps in KeyControl

You can configure KeyControl to send an SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) trap whenever an alert is generated. These alerts can be divided into two categories:

  • System-level alerts apply to events that are handled by Security Admins, such as numerous failed login attempts for a KeyControl user account or if the KeyControl license is about to expire.
  • Group-level alerts apply to events that are handled by Cloud Admins or Domain Admins, such as if a VM needs to be re-authorized or if the KeyControl cluster status changes.

You can specify one system-level SNMP trap configuration and one group-level SNMP trap configuration for each Cloud Admin or Domain Admin user group in the system.

If a group-level alert is raised and there is no matching group-level SNMP trap configuration, KeyControl defaults to the system-level SNMP trap configuration.
