Authorizing a New KeyControl Node

If you configured KeyControl to join an existing cluster when you installed the KeyControl software, you need to authorize the new node from one of the existing nodes in the cluster.

  1. Log into the KeyControl webGUI on any node in the cluster using an account with Domain Admin privileges.
  2. In the top menu bar, click Cluster.
  3. Click the Servers tab.
  4. Select the node you want to authenticate. The Authenticated column displays No for all nodes that have not yet been authenticated.
  5. Click Actions > Authenticate.
  6. Enter the one-time passphrase at the prompt and click Authenticate. This passphrase must exactly match the passphrase that was specified when the KeyControl node was installed. The passphrase is case-sensitive.

  7. Once the authentication process completes and the system has finished synchronizing, click Refresh and make sure that Authenticated is Yes and Status is Online.

If you want to track the progress of the authentication process, log into the system on which the new node was installed. The Authentication screen of the HyTrust SecureOS System Configuration wizard shows a series of messages beginning with Successfully Authenticated and ending with Cluster Setup Complete. Once the authentication process is finished, the wizard displays the HyTrust SecureOS Initial System Configuration screen with a message stating that the installation was successful. Press Enter to close the wizard and display the System Console Menu.
