Adding a Luna Cloud HSM to an Existing Luna HSM Configuration

If you have already configured your Cryptographic Security Platform Vault cluster to use one or more Luna hardware security module (HSM) serverx, you can add a Luna Cloud HSM server to your configuration. You can then configure an HA Group or add it to the existing HA Group. This provides High Availability (HA) if one HSM server should become unreachable. For more information, see Configuring a Luna HSM HA Group.

You can only have a single Luna Cloud HSM configured. If you also have any Luna HSMs, you must configure an HA Group and specify the same HA Group in both the Luna HSM and Luna Cloud HSM tabs of the Luna HSM Server Settings page.

Follow the instructions at Configuring Cryptographic Security Platform Vault as a Luna Cloud HSM Client to add the Luna Cloud HSM, and then use the instructions at Configuring a Luna HSM HA Group to create and select the HA Group.

Note: The partition that you use on the Luna Cloud HSM must use the same password as those on the Luna HSMs and meet the other requirements for membership in an HA group. For details about these requirements, see your Luna HSM documentation.
