Configuring the EDB PostgreSQL Database Connector
Before creating the Database Connector, you must ensure you have enabled TDE on the PostgreSQL Database Server VM. See Enable TDE on EDB PostgreSQL Database Server. After you create the connector, you can generate an access token to be used to configure the cryptographic provider.
-
Log into the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault for Databases webGUI.
-
In the top menu bar, click CloudKeys.
-
Select the PostgreSQL Key Set that you created, and click the Database Connectors tab in the bottom half of the screen.
-
Select Actions > Create Connector.
-
In the Create Database Connector dialog box, enter the following:
Field
Description
VM Name Enter the name for the PostgreSQL Database Server VM. Connector Name
Enter the name to use for the database connector.
Expiration Select one of the following:
-
Never—The database connector will never expire.
-
Choose a date—The database connector will expire on the selected date.
-
-
Click Create.
If the database connector is created correctly, you will see it listed in the table beneath the Database Connectors tab as ENABLED.
-
Select the database connector that you just created, and select Actions > Generate Access Token.
On the Generate Access Token window, the new access token is created and displays both an identity and a secret. You will need to copy these to use when configuring the cryptographic provider.
