Before You Begin 

Make sure that:

  • You know the IP address and any required network connection information, such as the domain name and the DNS and gateway IP addresses, for the machine on which you are installing Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager.

    Note: You must use an IPv4 address. Cryptographic Security Platform Vault does not support IPv6 addresses.

  • You have the required permissions to install software on the target system.
  • The target system meets the basic system requirements described in System Requirements.

Procedure 

  1. Log in to your vSphere Web Client.

    Note: The following procedure uses the vSphere Web Client version 6.5. If you are using a different version of the Web Client, the procedure may vary slightly.

  2. Navigate to Hosts and Clusters.

  3. Select Actions > Deploy OVF Template.

    Note: In this context, OVF and OVA are synonymous.

  4. On the Select an OVF template page of the Deploy OVF Template wizard, browse to the location of your OVA file.
  5. Select the file and click Next.

  6. On the Select a name and folder page, specify a unique name to use for the virtual machine and select the location.

    By default, the name of the virtual machine is the name of the OVF or OVA template.

  7. Click Next.
  8. On the Select a compute resource page, select the resource where you want to run the deployed VM template and click Next.
  9. On the Review Details page, verify the template details and click Next.
  10. On the License agreements page, read and accept the terms for the license agreement and then click Next.

  11. On the Configuration page, select the appropriate size for your deployment and then click Next.

  12. On the Select storage page, define where and how to store the files for the deployed OVF or OVA template, and click Next.
  13. On the Select networks page, select the destination network and click Next.

  14. On the Customize template page, complete the following: 

    Field

    Description

    Host IP address

    Enter the valid unused IP address that you want to use for the IP address.

    Hostname

    Enter the hostname to use for Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager

    Domain Name

    The domain name for Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager.

    Netmask

    Enter the netmask that is appropriate for your subnet.

    Gateway

    Enter the IP address of your network gateway server.

    DNS servers

    Enter the IP address of a DNS server at your site.

    You must have at least one DNS server. Up to three DNS server addresses are supported.

  15. After you have finished entering the deployment information, click Next and review your choices on the Ready to complete page.

  16. Click Finish to deploy Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager.

  17. Wait until you receive a message that the installation is complete.

You can view the installation progress in the Recent Tasks tab in the vSphere Client.
