Creating a Data Source Connection

Initializing a connection to a data source allows the Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager to import metadata from that data source.

Important: If the data source that you intend to add is a Cryptographic Security Platform Vault, please ensure that both the TLS setting and the EMS setting are the same in both the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault and Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager. For more information, see Configuring TLS.

  1. Log into the Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager webGUI with your standard account credentials.
  2. In the side menu bar, select Data Sources.

Note: For Cryptographic Security Platform Vault, the data sources are the individual vaults, for example, the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault for KMIP. If you want to add the Cryptographic Security Platform Vault appliance, select Appliance Clusters from the side menu bar.

  3. Select Actions > Initialize Connection.

If you do not already have a data source connected, click Initialize Connection on the Data Sources page.

  4. On the Initialize Connection to a Data Source page, enter the URL for the data source that you want to add.

  5. Click Create and Download File.

The Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager downloads a file in .JSON format that will be used to connect to your data source.

Important: This file should be considered a password. Please save it in a safe location in case you need to reconnect the same data source.

  6. Log into the data source that you created the connection to.

  7. At the top of the page, you will see a warning that you are not connected to Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager. Click Connect Now.

  8. Click Connect and upload the JSON file that you downloaded from Cryptographic Security Platform Compliance Manager.

  9. Click Close to close the Connect CSP Compliance Manager window.
