Adding a VMware Tanzu Kubernetes Cluster
CloudControl learns about the container environment when you add VMware Tanzu clusters.

From the Home tab, select Inventory > Kubernetes.

On the Clusters page, select Actions > Add Kubernetes Cluster.
Note: If there are no clusters in your system, you can also click the Add Kubernetes Cluster link on the Kubernetes Clusters page.

On the Add Kubernetes Cluster Import tab, choose one of the following:
- Select the Import File radio button, then click Browse and choose the kubeconfig file that you want to import.
- Select the Enter Text radio button, then paste the contents of the kubeconfig file in plain text.
Note: A kubeconfig file is a configuration file written in YAML that describes the cluster that you want to add.
- Click Continue.

On the Clusters tab, select the cluster that you want to add and click Continue.
Note: You can only select one cluster.

On the About tab, enter the friendly name and the password for the displayed user and click Continue.
Note: The vendor (Tanzu Management Center) and user are automatically added by CloudControl.
- Click Continue.
- On the Details page, you can monitor the process.

Click Continue.

On the Master Node page, select the nodes for which you want to apply root credentials and click Add Credentials.
The Master Nodes page displays all master nodes that have been discovered on the cluster.
- Select the master node and click the Add Credentials button.

In the Add SSH Access Credentials window, select one of the following and complete the required information:

User Name/Password:
Field
Value
User Name Enter the user name for the master node. This should be 'vmware-system-user'.
Password
Enter the password for the master node.
SSH Port
Enter the SSH port for the cluster.

Click Save.
Note: If you have more than one master node, repeat steps 11 through 13 to add all credentials.
- After all credentials have been successfully added, click Continue.
- In the Enable Access Control dialog box, click Enable Access Control to enable the ROOT Access Control Trust Manifest, or No, not now to wait until later. After this, you will be able to view the dashboard for the newly added cluster.

Click Continue to view the dashboard for the newly added cluster.
