Creating a Standalone Node

This process using a Text-Based User Interface (TUI). Please use the arrows, tab key, and enter key to navigate.

Important: If you want to create a cluster, please use the procedure in Creating the Primary Node of a Cluster.

  1. From the vSphere VMware client, right-click the VM on which CloudControl is deployed and select Open Console.

    Alternatively, select the VM from the list of VMs and click Launch Virtual Machine Console in the vCenter Client toolbar.

  2. Enter and confirm the password for the htadmin user, then select OK.
  3. Select Standalone Node and select OK.
  4. Confirm the network configuration. The mandatory values are inherited from the deployment process.

    Field Description
    Host IP address Enter the valid unused IP address that you want to use for the CloudControl IP address.
    Hostname

    Enter the hostname to use for CloudControl.

    Domain Name

    The domain name for CloudControl.

    Netmask

    Enter the netmask that is appropriate for your subnet.

    Gateway

    Enter the IP address of your network gateway server.

    DNS servers

    Enter the IP address of a DNS server at your site.

    You must have at least one DNS server. Up to three DNS server addresses are supported.

    NTP server list

    Optionally enter the IP address or FQDN of the NTP servers.

    Static Routes

    Optionally add a static route using the following format: <IP_Address>/<Netmask>:<Gateway>

    To enter more than one static route, use comma-separated values.

  5. Review your choices and select OK, or select No to modify your choices.

    When the configuration has finished, CloudControl displays a confirmation message stating that the configuration has completed successfully.
