Configuring the Windows Server 2008 Firewall
This appendix describes how to configure the Windows Server 2008 Firewall to work with HyTrust CloudControl. For details on configuring other firewalls, refer to the appropriate documentation.

Open the Start menu and select Administrative Tools > Windows Firewall and Advanced Security.

Click Inbound Rules in the left pane to view the current inbound firewall rules.

Locate the Remote Desktop (TCP-In) rule and confirm that it is disabled.
If it is enabled, select it and click the Disable Rule button in the Action pane on the right.

Select the VMware vCenter Server - HTTP rule and click the Properties button in the Action pane.

Click the Scope tab.

In the Remote IP address section, select These IP addresses, and click the Add button.

Select This IP address or subnet, enter the IP address of CloudControl in the field, and click OK.

Click OK in the Properties dialog to apply the changes.

Repeat for the following rules:

VMware vCenter Server - HTTPS

VMware vCenter Server - Web Services HTTPS

VMware vCenter Server Web Services HTTP

After configuring the rules, authentication and authorization to vCenter Server can only be accomplished via CloudControl.
