Search uses a syntax that uses terms and operators when defining query strings. Terms are categorized into two types — single terms and phrases. A single term is a single word (for example, apple or orange). A phrase is a group of words surrounded by double quotes (for example, "apples and oranges").
Terms and operators are defined within fields. These fields are made up of option groups and individual options. Search currently supports the following option groups:
Search Target – Enables you to choose to scope the search results to all VMs or a specific VM.
