Using the User Search Option

Selecting the User option from the Search Builder drop-down menu in the Search tab displays a qualifier menu and a text bar for use in the user search.

When adding a User term to a search, keep the following in mind:

To add a User term to the search bar:

  1. Click inside the search bar.

  2. Select Add Search Option > User.

  3. Select the desired qualifier from the menu and enter a user name in the Select user field.

    Menu Option Description
    owner Default selection. Enables you to search for files where the specified user is the owner of the file.
    reader Enables you to search for files where the specified user has read the file.
    writer Enables you to search for files where the specified user has modified (written to) the file.
  4. Click Add.

    The Search Builder adds the textual equivalent of your selections to the search bar and automatically reruns the search.
