Using the Tag Search Option

Tags are search definitions used to identify specific content and patterns within files. Tags use regular expressions (regex) to compare file content and flag any matched information in files. Selecting the Tag option from the Search Builder drop-down menu in the Search tab displays another option containing all predefined and custom tags available for use in the search.

When using tags in a search, keep the following in mind:

• CloudAdvisor provides predefined system tags, whose regex search expressions are not editable. However, you can change the color of the system tag or specify your own sample text if you want to test the predefined tag against a custom sample. For information, see Editing Tags and Predefined Tags.
• CloudAdvisor enables you to create custom tags. You can use any custom tags that you create as a search term. For more information about creating custom tags, see Creating Custom Tags.
• CloudAdvisor updates the list of users each time you select a search target. Once selected, the list of users remains static until you reselect the search target.

To add a tag term to the search bar:

1. Click inside the search bar.

2. Select Add Search Option > Tag.

3. Select the desired tag and any options from the menus to define the Tag option.

4. Click Add.

   The Search Builder adds the textual equivalent of your selections to the search bar and automatically reruns the search.
